There's plenty of history here on the 1800's working cattle and
horse ranch in the heart of the sweeping Porcupine Hills of southern
Alberta. You'll be surrounded by 4000 acres of vast open country
which comprises Lucasia Ranch. Herds of elk and deer mingle with
Texas Longhorns and crossbred cattle as well as Percheron, Appaloosa
and Quarter Horses.
Travel back into
the historic days of the Old West. This working ranch was
established in 1881 by Colonel Lyndon and stands as a testament of a
bygone era.
Wayne and Judy Lucas and family invite you to share in the daily
lives and those of their cowboy neighbors and friends for spring
branding, cattle drives, fall gatherings or simply peaceful range
riding.
After a day in
the saddle, you can spend the evening grazing into the glow of the
campfire or relaxing on the deck. Take the crystal spring water that
flows near the ranch house and is home to the colourful ducks and
geese.
Stay in the Ranch House with the family or try a rustic turn of the
century log cabin - recently refurbished. Enjoy down-home cooking
and sincere western hospitality.
Access to the Ranch is convenient from either Calgary International
Airport for from the Montana border crossing. Many of our guests use
our ranch as a staging area for day trips to Banff, Waterton
National Park or Calgary.
